The summer of 2011 has been a very busy one for Bay Inc. Regardless, the
summer break means one things: internships. Bay provides local students
who are on summer break with work experience that they cannot get on
any college campus or in any large lecture hall.
Owner Alon Brener is more than aware of the
important fundamentals learned while participating in an internship.
“Everyone did an internship while in school. Most internships involve
running errands, getting coffee or picking up the mail.” Brener
continued, “we give our internship participants real-world marketing
experience. They leave here with business savvy and the skills to work
for any large company promoting that brand and creating tangible
results.”

One of Bay's top internship participants is
Stephanie Bennis. Bennis is starting her Sophomore year at Chico in the
fall. Her work ethic and ability to excel in aiding the marketing
department have made her a great success during her short tenure at Bay.
Nonetheless, she knows more is required to maintain her progress. “I
have gotten incredible experience that will give me great advantages
when I apply for jobs in the future, but I know coming back next summer
will help me further develop great leadership skills.” Bennis went on to
say, “I have had a wonderful time working at Bay this summer. I don’t
feel like a traditional ‘intern’, I felt like a peer.” Bennis and the other participants in the Bay paid internship program
will continue to work this summer until the program ends on August 20th.
